The Pride at Work initiative, supported by the Kingston Economic Development Corporation, is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs in Kingston. This program provides access to a variety of resources and support systems designed to help 2SLGBTQI+ individuals start and grow their businesses, ensuring they have the tools needed to succeed despite facing potential systemic barriers and discrimination.
The initiative includes several key resources such as the Rainbow Registered Accreditation Program, which helps businesses become certified as 2SLGBTQI+ friendly, signaling their commitment to inclusivity. Additionally, the Canada LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce offers training and support to help businesses better serve LGBT+ clientele, fostering a more inclusive and supportive business environment.
Furthermore, the Pride at Work Canada program provides educational resources and thought leadership to empower employers to create safer and more inclusive workplaces. This is complemented by services like TransFocus Consulting, which assists organizations in implementing gender-inclusive practices, and Family Equality�s LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion training for professionals.
